TUCSON, Ariz. – May 7, 2021 – Tune in Sunday evening to ABC World News Tonight (6:30 p.m. ET / 5:30 p.m. CT) for a special Mother’s Day segment featuring Norma Trujillo. The mom of three will share her extraordinary story of how she fought against all odds to walk and care independently for her children again after a life-changing accident.

Four years ago, Trujillo was hit by a vehicle after stopping to help a stalled car, resulting in the loss of both legs above-the-knee and a severed spinal cord. Since then, Trujillo has relied on hard work, determination, encouragement from her family and community, and care from her Hanger Clinic team in Tucson, including Sarah Don, CPO. From driving her kids to soccer practice to participating in adaptive sporting events, Trujillo is truly a “Super-Mom” on a mission to show her family (and the world) that anything is possible.
