NASHVILLE, Tenn. – Feb. 18, 2020 – From Feb. 3-7, Hanger LIVE 2020 brought more than 1,100 Hanger employees and 370 exhibitors together from across the U.S. for educational courses and collaboration with colleagues, manufacturers, and industry partners. Themed “New Frontiers,” the event included clinical keynote sessions from medical professionals advancing the orthotics and prosthetics (O&P) industry, and, for the first time, a continuing education track for physical and occupational therapists.

Previously hosted in Nevada for more than 20 years, the conference moved in 2020 to the Gaylord Opryland Hotel and Convention Center in Nashville, Tennessee. Local Hanger teams, partners and patients were spotlighted, including singer-songwriter Travis Meadows, a cancer survivor who shared his music during the Feb. 4 Opening Ceremony. He was joined by singer Marsha Elle and violinist Giovanna Dubuc, whose rendition of “The Devil Went Down to Georgia,” by the Charlie Daniels Band, can be viewed at: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YkjuwVpAM1U.

Following the Opening Ceremony, the Hanger Partner Awards recognized supplier partners whose products help Hanger Clinic teams deliver exceptional orthotic and prosthetic care and empower patients’ lives. Partners recognized this year were: OssKin for “Rising Star,” WillowWood for “Collaboration,” Open Bionics for “Innovation,” Blatchford for “Operational Performance,” and Freedom Innovations for the newly created “Clinician’s Choice” category.

More than 150 instructors presented 100 courses throughout the week. Highlights included the outcomes-focused clinical keynotes; courses on creating a positive patient experience; and a presentation on transforming patient care through data and innovation by Aneesh Chopra, President of CareJourney and the nation’s first Chief Technology Officer (2009-2012). Additionally, Hanger’s longstanding “Women in Leadership” series featured a workshop that was livestreamed outside the conference to women in O&P across the country.
