AUSTIN, TX – November 2, 2026 – Hanger, Inc., a leading provider of orthotic and prosthetic (O&P) patient care services and solutions, today announced the acquisition of Bionic Power, a Canadian company developing smart orthotic technology including the Agilik™ microprocessor-controlled knee-ankle-foot-orthosis (MPKAFO). Bionic Power was recently named to the 2026 Forbes Accessibility 200 List.
Approximately 50 percent of adolescents with cerebral palsy who can walk will lose that ability in early or middle adulthood — a trajectory Bionic Power is working to reverse. With adoption of the Agilik™ continuing to grow, children and adults in 10 countries with gait impairments from conditions such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, and stroke are using the device to stand more upright, walk easier and longer, gain muscle strength, and boost confidence.
“Combining Hanger’s clinical research and technical expertise with Bionic Power’s innovative product offering has already proven to be a tremendous success,” said Hanger CEO Pete Stoy. “Bringing the Bionic Power team to the Hanger ecosystem will only enhance our ability to help more children and adults walk confidently and stay active longer.”
Bionic Power CEO Gualtiero Guadagni will continue to lead Bionic Power, which will become part of Hanger’s Products & Services organization. The acquisition is expected to close by the end of the year.
“Becoming part of the Hanger family of brands is a powerful validation of the real-world outcomes we’re delivering to patients,” said Gualtiero Guadagni, CEO of Bionic Power. “From day one of our collaboration, it has been clear that our mission is directly aligned with Hanger’s culture and their commitment to innovation that improves quality of life through clinically grounded mobility solutions for the people we have the honor to serve. We are thrilled to join the Hanger team.”
