The Therapy Partners in Care track is a CEU-accredited interactive educational event designed for physical therapists, who are essential in guiding lower limb prosthetic users throughout their entire continuum of care.
This two-day event combines expert-led clinical education, hands-on skill development, and meaningful peer engagement to support evidence-based practice. Therapists will also gain firsthand insight by learning directly from patients, deepening their understanding of lived experiences and reinforcing the critical role of patient-centered care in achieving successful outcomes. Day one features a clinical keynote address and updates on the latest research and innovations in rehabilitation. Day two offers targeted continuing education and a patient-centered lab focused on gait training and therapeutic exercise.
Coursework will provide participants with tailored education in a multidisciplinary setting while allowing learners to build their collaborative network of care and resources both locally and nationally.

From Preferences to Expectations — Understanding Patient Behavior to Guide Care
Associate Professor; Duke Department of Population Health Sciences and Associate Professor in Medicine
Dr. Gonzalez is an Associate Professor in the Department of Population Health Sciences and an expert in designing stated-preference surveys and applying advanced statistical methods to analyze preference data. His research centers on making benefit-risk evaluations of medical interventions more transparent and incorporating patient and stakeholder preferences into shared decision making. Currently, he collaborates with FDA’s Center for Devices and Radiological Health to strengthen the agency’s review of stated-preference evidence in regulatory decisions.
