Hanger Charitable Foundation awards third and final round of 2017 grants

AUSTIN, Texas – Dec. 29, 2017 – The Hanger Charitable Foundation completed its third and final round of 2017 grant awards, giving $140,900 to five non-profit organizations and bringing the Foundation’s total awards granted for 2017 to more than $250,000. Since its award to Angel City Games in May 2015, the Foundation has given more than $940,000 to more than 35 non-profits that share its mission to empower people with physical challenges to live life as fully as possible.

The most recent grant recipients include local and national organizations that serve a variety of communities, including children and teens with limb loss or limb difference:

No Limits Limb Loss Foundation, Camp No Limits Kids Scholarships: $100,000 to provide scholarships for campers at nine nationwide camps for children living with limb loss or limb difference.

No Limits Limb Loss Foundation, Camp No Limits Teen Scholarships: $10,000 to provide scholarships for teenagers to participate in a camp designed just for teens living with limb loss or limb difference.

Resurgence Alliance Inc., Resurgence Paramotor: $10,000 to purchase equipment that will allow wounded, ill, and injured service members and veterans to participate in powered paragliding.

Spaulding Rehabilitation Corporation, Adaptive Outrigger Canoe: $12,000 to purchase an adaptive outrigger canoe for use in adaptive sports activities.

Spina Bifida Association of Northeastern New York, Prevention Outreach: $3,900 to produce packages to help educate members of the health care community about the prevention of spina bifida.

Texas Rowing For All, Camp Kayak 2018: $5,000 to support watersports camps in Central Texas for youth and young adults with physical, sensory and cognitive disabilities.
