Los Angeles, Calif., Oct. 20, 2017 – When the California wildfires destroyed their home, nine-year-old double amputee Lilly Biagini and her mother Jessica lost everything, including their car, Lilly’s prosthetic legs, and presents for Lilly’s birthday on Nov. 2. Lilly and Jessica shared their story of survival on The Ellen DeGeneres Show, where they received several surprises: a new car for Jessica and presents for Lilly, including a personalized peer support doll who has prosthetic legs just like Lilly. The doll, donated by a family friend, was modified and fitted by Hanger Clinic and National Labs teams coordinating across the country to ensure the doll made it to Lilly in time for the surprise.
