Los Angeles, Calif., Nov. 26, 2019 – Matthew Brewer has made incredible progress since losing both his legs above-the-knee in 2014. Thanks to hard work, dedication, and a strong support community, Brewer is now a full-time prosthetics user, mentor to others with limb loss, and regular attendee at national Hanger Clinic events that have inspired him, like the Bilateral Above-Knee Amputee Bootcamp. Brewer is not only walking independently, but running, competing in para-athletic events, and even playing sled hockey.
Brewer shared his amazing transformation and goals for the future on the national TV show The Doctors. During the segment, Hanger Clinic Vice President of Prosthetics Kevin Carroll, MS, CP, FAAOP (D) surprised Brewer with a pair of custom-designed running legs of his own, made available in collaboration with manufacturing partner Blatchford and The Doctors.
