Austin, Texas, Nov. 12, 2019 – On Oct. 17, Hanger hosted the inaugural webinar in its new PowerUp Series, which aims to advance women in O&P by providing a platform to learn from, and engage with one another. The event drew nearly 150 attendees from more than 30 states, including women in various career stages, from residents to industry veterans.
Vice President and General Manager of Southern Prosthetic Supply (SPS) Regina Weger moderated the webinar, which featured a panel of women from across the industry:
- Wendy Beattie, MA, CPO, FAAOP; National Commission on Orthotic and Prosthetic Education (NCOPE) Board Member & Clinical and Program Director at Eastern Michigan University
- Leigh Davis, MSPO, CPO, FAAOP; American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists (AAOP) Immediate Past President and CPO at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta
- Gabrielle Brodehl, CPO, Clinic Manager for Hanger Clinic in Albuquerque, NM
Titled “Finding your best approach – Advancing your career and achieving work/life effectiveness,” the webinar explored how to achieve a successful career at any phase of life, and panelists shared their perspectives on balancing career and other obligations.
