Hanger Clinic Patient Athletes Make Their Mark at 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games

AUSTIN, Texas, Sept. 16, 2021 – Despite the challenges presented by the pandemic, Hanger Clinic patients achieved their dreams of competing on the world stage at the 2020 Tokyo Paralympic Games, which concluded last week.

Highlights of the Games included U.S. Women’s Sitting Volleyball player Lora Webster leading her team to a gold medal at her fifth Games, and Ezra Frech representing Team USA as the youngest member of the Track & Field team. Every athlete demonstrated remarkable dedication to their sport, and made their family, friends, and Hanger Clinic teams proud.

The athletes’ results are listed below, and they were recognized in a special social media post by their clinicians, who cheered them on from afar.

  • Jamie Brown – Paratriathlon – 9th Place
  • Ezra Frech – Para Track and Field – 5th Place High Jump; 8th Place Long Jump
  • McKenna Geer – Para Shooting – 21st Place Mixed 10m Standing; 34th Place Mixed 10m Prone; 17th Place Mixed 50m Prone
  • Shelby Jensen – Para Fencing – 7th Place Team Epee; 8th Place Team Foil; 12th Place Epee; 15th Place Saber
  • Jake Schrom – Para Powerlifting – 6th Place
  • Lora Webster – Sitting Volleyball – 1st Place
