RENO, Nev. – June 19, 2024 – Accelerated Care Plus (ACP), a Hanger, Inc. company and the nation’s leader in post-acute rehabilitation solutions, announced today the launch of its new innovative software, ACPlus Respiratory Assessment (ARA). Designed to proactively and effectively identify and build treatment plans for patients with pulmonary dysfunction, ARA’s cloud-based workstream solution aims to help skilled nursing operators improve patient outcomes and reduce rehospitalizations.

“With the majority of Medicare hospital readmissions being driven by cardiopulmonary conditions, ARA is a first-of-its-kind solution designed to empower skilled nursing operators to accurately and efficiently capture patient conditions as early as possible and deliver more targeted, data-driven care,” shared ACP Vice President of Clinical Operations Amy Hobbs. “Additionally, ARA provides operators with robust documentation needed to support reimbursement for the true complexity of this specific patient population.”

ARA performs a pulmonary function test using a Bluetooth spirometer and incorporates information from the Global Lung Initiative (GLI), the largest resource for routine lung function data, to calculate how a patient performed against predicted norms. The software runs algorithms to suggest potential breathing patterns and severity levels – providing documentation needed to create a respiratory care plan and support clinically appropriate reimbursement.
