SCHAUMBURG, Ill., March 19, 2025 – Hanger Clinic, the leading provider of orthotic and prosthetic (O&P) patient care, services, and products, celebrated the grand opening of its new, state-of-the-art Integrated Care Center (ICC) in Schaumburg, IL yesterday.

The 19,000-square-foot facility is designed to deliver a high level of O&P care to patients with limb loss, limb difference, or other physical disabilities in a collaborative and unique environment while utilizing an integrated, outcomes-based care model. Patients at the ICC will have the opportunity to trial different technologies to determine the best fit based on their individual needs and lifestyle, and to test those devices out in a real-world setting, including a large gym, rock climbing wall, golf simulator, running track, full kitchen, and demo apartment for practicing everyday tasks.

The full onsite fabrication lab provides direct patient access to technicians to help meet specific wants and needs and results in quicker turnaround times. The ICC also offers advanced technologies that provide the ability to track progress, including performance-based measures in addition to patient-reported measures to improve care. The collaborative environment facilitates integrative care with external healthcare partners and creates opportunities for peer support programs and community events.

The grand opening began with a ribbon cutting with Schaumburg Village President, Tom Dailly, and continued with a reception where patients and healthcare partners explored the numerous resources available at the ICC. Hanger patient and quadruple amputee, Kevin Breen, hosted a special kitchen demonstration, and Hanger leadership including CEO Pete Stoy shared how the ICC is a key part of Hanger’s efforts to advance its mission.

“Empowering human potential is at the core of every decision we make,” said Pete Stoy. “I’m so proud of the team that made the Integrated Care Center come to life, as it is the culmination of a multi-year journey. We will have the privilege to serve patients from across the country and around the world who will encounter an expert team and innovative atmosphere. This space was designed with input from patients and clinicians and is part of our commitment to providing an unmatched O&P ecosystem for the best possible patient outcomes.”

The event included a special appearance from Hanger Clinic patient Katy Sullivan, a Tony Award nominated actress (currently in the Emmy winning show Hacks), Paralympian, bilateral above knee amputee, and Chicago resident. Katy shared her story with those in attendance and celebrated the new facility with the ICC team including her prosthetist, Ryan Caldwell.

“I have been able to live out my wildest dreams because of having access to the care and devices I need, and if they had a facility like this when I was training for the Paralympics it would have been incredible,” said Katy Sullivan. “Everyone in the limb loss and limb difference community deserves to have a supportive care team, and I absolutely have one at Hanger Clinic. Never once have I heard anyone say, “that’s not possible” because when they say they are empowering human potential, they mean it.”
